چکیده

From a phenomenological view, the motivation for supersymmetry(SUSY) is that it provides us with an elegant method of dealing with the hierarchy problem. Supersymmetry solves the hierarchy problem because |λf | = λs, where λf and λs are higgs’ coupling to the Standard Model(SM) fermions and their scalar superpartners(SP) respectively. Due to this relationship between the two coupling constants the ΛUV correction to the squared higgs mass due each of these particles cancel each other. Experimentally, however we see do not any of these super particles and therefore supersymmetry can only be an approximate symmetry of nature. So we would like to create a model in which supersymmetry is broken, but the corrections to squared higgs mass mH should still remain only logarithmic. Lsoft is the part of the lagrangian that consists of terms that satisfy this requirement. The couplings need to have positive mass dimension because if msoft is the largest mass scale of the soft terms then in the limit msoft → 0 supersymmetry has to be restored. So using dimensional analysis we see that soft terms cannot create ΛUV corrections to the higgs mass [?]. So in general we find that corrections to mH due to soft terms must be ∆mH ∼ msoft log(ΛUV /msoft) (1)

Sparticle Spectroscopy and Phenomenology in a New Class of Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking Models

Recently, a proposal (by R.N.M. and S.N.) was made for a new class of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) models where the standard model gauge group is embedded into the gauge group SU(2)L ×U(1)I3R ×U(1)B−L (or SU(2)L × SU(2)R × U(1)B−L) at the supersymmetry breaking scale Λ. Supersymmetry breaking is transmitted to the visible sector via the same fields that are responsible for gauge...

Photon signatures for low energy supersymmetry breaking and broken R-parity

The possible phenomenological consequences of R-parity violating interactions in the framework of low energy supersymmetry breaking are studied. It is pointed out that even very weak R-parity violation would completely overshadow one of the basic signatures of low energy supersymmetry breaking models, that is the decay of the next to lightest supersymmetric particle into a photon (lepton) and m...

Dynamical Supersymmetry Breaking and Low Energy Gauge Mediation

Dynamical breaking of supersymmetry was long thought to be an exceptional phenomenon, but recent developments have altered this view. A question of great interest in the current framework is the value of the underlying scale of supersymmetry breaking. The “little hierarchy” problem suggests that supersymmetry should be broken at low energies. Within one class of models, low energy breaking be a...

Hadronic Axion Model in Gauge-Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking

A simple hadronic axion model is proposed in the framework of gaugemediated supersymmetry breaking. Dynamics of Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking is governed by supersymmetry breaking effects and the Peccei-Quinn breaking scale fPQ is inversely proportional to the gravitino mass. The gravitino mass range which corresponds to the axion window fPQ ≃ 109 GeV – 1013 GeV lies in the region predicted by...

Cornering gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking with quasi-stable sleptons at the Tevatron

There are many theoretical reasons why heavy quasi-stable charged particles might exist. Pair production of such particles at the Tevatron can produce highly ionizing tracks (HITs) or fake muons. In gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking, sparticle production can lead to events with a pair of quasi-stable sleptons, a significant fraction of which will have the same electric charge. Depending on ...
